The Challenges of Backlink Services in Pakistan: A Call for Professionalism and Trust

In my recent experience with backlink services through a Facebook group, I interacted with around 10-12 individuals who claimed to be SEO and backlink experts. However, the discussions and their approach raised several concerns about the authenticity, transparency, and professionalism in the industry.

Key Issues Identified
1. Lack of Transparency and Verification
Most individuals, when asked about their services and previous work, provided only an Excel sheet listing domain names and their respective Domain Rating (DR). However, the authenticity of these DR values was unclear. A professional SEO expert should provide verifiable reports and real-time insights rather than just an Excel list.
2. Unawareness of Dofollow and Nofollow Ratio
A fundamental aspect of backlink strategy is understanding the ratio of dofollow and nofollow links. Surprisingly, many of these so-called experts were unable to specify how many of their unique domains provided dofollow or nofollow links. This lack of awareness can negatively impact a website’s ranking and even lead to search engine penalties.
3. Unrealistic Backlink Offers
Some providers claimed to offer 3,000 backlinks within three days but had only 30-35 unique websites in their inventory. This clearly indicates the use of spammy techniques, which can severely harm a website’s SEO rather than improve it. A high volume of backlinks in a short time from a limited number of unique domains is a red flag for search engines.
4. Unstable Pricing and Urgency Tactics
Many providers exhibited inconsistency in their pricing, frequently changing rates without valid reasons. Instead of offering a structured pricing model, they pressured clients with urgency tactics, making it difficult to trust their service quality. Professional service providers should have transparent pricing based on the quality of their links, not on arbitrary factors.
5. Lack of Customer-Centric Approach
A major issue in the local SEO market is the focus on quick earnings rather than customer satisfaction. Many service providers demand the client’s budget upfront before offering their pricing, which is an unprofessional approach. Instead, they should first present their service details, pricing structure, and justifications for their rates based on the quality of their work.
6. Trust Issues Due to Multiple Ids
One of the most concerning practices was that some providers messaged clients from multiple Facebook accounts. This inconsistency erodes trust and creates an impression of dishonesty. A professional business should maintain a single, reliable identity and clear communication channels with clients.
Recommendations for SEO Experts
To build a sustainable and trustworthy SEO industry in Pakistan, professionals must adopt ethical and transparent practices. Here are some key recommendations:
1. Thorough Research Before Offering Services
Before selling backlink packages, ensure you have a database of at least 500+ unique domains to provide quality backlinks. Randomly creating thousands of links from a handful of sites will only harm a client’s website.
2. Transparent Pricing and Service Details
Instead of asking for a client’s budget, offer a well-defined pricing structure. If you charge a premium, explain why – whether it's because of high-quality DR websites, niche-specific placements, or long-term SEO benefits.
3. Focus on Customer Satisfaction, Not Just Payment
Rather than demanding upfront payments, offer flexible options. For instance, provide daily link-building services and allow daily payments. This builds trust and ensures a win-win situation for both parties.
4. Professionalism in Communication
Avoid unnecessary urgency and pressure tactics. Clients should feel comfortable and confident in their investment. Instead of jumping between different accounts, maintain a professional presence with a single, credible profile.
Conclusion
The Pakistani SEO industry has immense potential, but the lack of professionalism and trustworthiness is driving international demand away. To gain global credibility, SEO experts must prioritize ethical business practices, transparency, and customer satisfaction over short-term financial gains. By fostering trust and delivering real value, the industry can grow and compete on an international level.
